MOVIMENTO 갤러리는 2023 밀라노 디자인 위크를 맞아 밀라노 포르타 베네치아(Porta Venezia) 지역의 5개 층에 걸쳐 동시대 디자인을 소개하는 전시 《MERGING AND EMERGING》을 선보인다. 우리의 디자인적 시각은 무엇에 의해 형성되는가? 우리가 살아가는 환경이 디자인에 대한 관점을 결정하는 것일까, 아니면 오늘날 우리는 서로 긴밀히 연결되어 있어 대륙을 넘어 공통된 감각과 비전을 공유하고 있는 것일까?
《MERGING AND EMERGING》은 이러한 질문에 답하고자 한다. 전 세계 다양한 디자이너와 작품들이 보여주는 고유한 형태, 재료, 제작 과정, 그리고 표면 마감 방식을 살펴봄으로써, 동시대 글로벌 디자인 계의 단면을 조망하고자 한다. 이를 통해 서로 다른 지역과 문화권에서 탄생한 디자인들이 어떻게 교차하고 융합하며, 또 각자의 독자적인 방향으로 전개되는지를 보여준다.
