〈흔적(Vestige)〉 시리즈는 과거 모노하 작가들의 물질 탐구와 조형 언어에서 출발하여, 보다 명확한 인과관계의 구조를 도입한다. 작품은 주로 금속 판재를 모래 입자로 된 연마재로 반복적으로 마찰하여 흔적을 새긴 뒤, 연마재의 근원이 되는 자연석을 배치하는 방식으로 구성된다.
작품의 인과적 구조를 통해 물질 간의 상호작용을 가시화하고, 마찰로 새겨진 흔적으로 하여금 단순히 지나간 과거가 아닌 반복된 행위와 시간의 축적이 내포된 시간성을 드러낸다.
The Vestige series departs from the material investigations and sculptural language of Monoha artists, introducing a more clearly defined structure of causality. The works are primarily composed of metal plates repeatedly abraded with sand-based abrasives to inscribe traces onto their surfaces, alongside natural stones from which the abrasive material originates.
Through this causal structure, the work makes visible interactions between materials. The traces inscribed through abrasion reveal not merely the past, but temporality embedded in repeated actions and accumulated time.
